| Thallus epilithic, continuous to sparingly rimose, pale silvery greyish green, smooth to minutely uneven, glossy or dull (older thalli); uppermost c. 10 µm free of algae; photobiont Trentepohlia; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia semi-immersed to almost completely immersed, moderately numerous, usually solitary, 0.38–0.82 mm diam. Perithecial apex rounded or subconical; ostiole inconspicuous or in a shallow 60–100 µm wide depression. Involucrellum brown-black, dimidiate or extending to exciple base level, 50–100 µm thick. Exciple uniformly hyaline, 20–30 (–35) µm thick. Centrum 0.28–0.44 mm diam. Paraphyses simple to very sparingly branched. Asci elongate-cylindrical, 110–160 × 10–19 µm. Ascospores fusiform to elongate-fusiform, muriform, irregularly biseriate in the ascus, 10–17 × (1–) 2–3-septate, with rounded or somewhat pointed apices and a 2–6 µm thick gelatinous sheath, usually constricted at the primary septum, 37–63 × 10–19 µm.
